Taylor Swift set a new record for the most vinyl album sales in a week, selling 700,000 LP copies of The Tortured Poets Department in just three days. This surpasses her previous records set by 1989 (Taylor’s Version) at 693,000 copies and Midnights with 570,000 copies. The overall sales for The Tortured Poets Department reached 1.5 million in three days, including CD, cassette, and download sales in addition to vinyl. With four more days of sales and streaming numbers, it’s expected to surpass 2 million album-equivalent units for the week, a feat not achieved since Adele’s 25 in 2015.
