SZA has stepped into the world of Pixar with her original song “Save the Day,” written for the upcoming animated feature Hoppers. The track is featured in the film’s end credits and is now streaming across major platforms, arriving ahead of the movie’s theatrical release on March 6, 2026.
Director Daniel Chong, best known for creating We Bare Bears, revealed that SZA’s earlier songs were used as temporary placeholders during editing. Their emotional tone matched the film so well that the team reached out to her directly. After watching an early cut, SZA connected with the story and created a new track inspired by its themes.
Hoppers follows Mabel Tanaka, voiced by Piper Curda, a nature lover who uses experimental technology to transfer her consciousness into a robotic beaver in order to protect a threatened habitat. The voice cast also includes Meryl Streep, Jon Hamm, and Sam Richardson.
For fans and collectors, Disney Music Emporium is offering a limited-edition die-cut vinyl inspired by the film’s robotic beaver character.
