A new portrait featuring Elton John and his family is now on public display in London. The image, which includes his husband David Furnish and their two sons, has been added to the collection at the National Portrait Gallery.

The gallery confirmed that the photograph was taken by American photographer Catherine Opie at the family’s home in Old Windsor, England, shortly before Christmas. The portrait shows the family seated together in their library, with two Labrador dogs also included in the scene.

According to details shared alongside the exhibition, the portrait captures a quiet moment of everyday family life. The couple’s sons, Zachary and Elijah, appear alongside their parents in a relaxed setting that reflects their home environment rather than a formal studio arrangement.

John and Furnish said the opportunity to have their family photographed by Opie and displayed at the gallery is a meaningful moment. The National Portrait Gallery is known for presenting images of individuals who have influenced British culture and public life.

The portrait is currently part of Opie’s exhibition at the gallery, adding a personal chapter to the visual record of one of Britain’s most recognizable music figures.
