Jessica Simpson will be the focus of a new Netflix documentary set to arrive in 2027. The project was announced as a look back at the singer, actress, author, reality TV personality, and entrepreneur’s decades-long career and personal journey.
The upcoming film will be directed by Joe Pearlman, whose previous documentary work includes projects centered on Robbie Williams and Lewis Capaldi. Netflix says the documentary will explore different chapters of Simpson’s life, including her rise in music, her years in television, and the expansion of her business ventures.
Simpson has sold more than 20 million records worldwide and later built a successful fashion brand that became a major part of her career outside music. She also released the memoir Open Book, which became a bestseller and offered a more personal account of her experiences.
In 2025, Simpson returned to music with Nashville Canyon, a two-part project that marked her first major new recordings in years. The documentary is expected to bring those career shifts together in one retrospective.
