Andy Williams, the guitarist best known for his work with Every Time I Die and his professional wrestling career as The Butcher, has died at age 48. His death was confirmed after he experienced a medical emergency during a wrestling event in Millvale, Pennsylvania, on September 5.

Event organizers and officials said Williams received medical attention at the venue before being taken to a hospital. Emergency personnel performed CPR, and his death was later confirmed by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office. A specific cause of death had not been publicly announced at the time of the initial confirmation.

Williams helped form Every Time I Die in Buffalo, New York, in 1998. He remained a key member of the metalcore band throughout its run, appearing on all nine of its studio albums before the group split in 2022.

Outside music, Williams developed a second career in professional wrestling. Performing as The Butcher, he became widely recognized through appearances with All Elite Wrestling. He had also recently returned to music through the project Atomic Rule.
