Severe weather brought an unexpected end to the opening night of Head Trip 2026 in Indio, California, on Saturday, October 10, leaving festivalgoers without one of the evening’s biggest performances.

Festival organizers announced that lightning activity near the Empire Polo Club forced them to suspend performances around 9 p.m. The interruption occurred during a set by Under Construction, the electronic music duo featuring Fisher and Chris Lake.

Attendees were instructed to leave the festival grounds or seek shelter in their vehicles as organizers monitored the weather conditions. About 30 minutes later, officials confirmed that the event would not resume that night.

The decision meant Calvin Harris, scheduled to headline at 9:30 p.m., was unable to take the stage.

The disruption came as Tropical Storm Rachel brought unsettled weather conditions to Southern California.

Head Trip was scheduled to continue Sunday, October 11, with performances from Skrillex, Swedish House Mafia, The Blessed Madonna, DJ Harvey, and Dom Dolla alongside Kettama.

The two-day electronic music festival is organized by Goldenvoice, the company behind Coachella and several other major music events.
