Bruce Springsteen has entered Michigan’s U.S. Senate race, publicly endorsing Democratic candidate Dr. Abdul El-Sayed just one day before the November 3 election.

In an Instagram statement shared Monday, November 2, the legendary rocker praised El-Sayed’s commitment to the Constitution and American democracy. Springsteen also criticized President Donald Trump’s administration, describing the candidate as someone willing to challenge its leadership.

The endorsement comes as El-Sayed faces Republican Mike Rogers in the contest to replace retiring Democratic Senator Gary Peters.

The race has also seen unexpected political developments. Democratic Representative Haley Stevens, who previously supported El-Sayed after losing to him in the primary, withdrew her endorsement and announced her support for Rogers.

Michigan Democratic leaders criticized Stevens’ decision, while El-Sayed said his attention remained on issues affecting voters.

Springsteen has a long history of political involvement, frequently supporting Democratic candidates and speaking publicly against Trump’s policies and leadership.

His latest endorsement adds another prominent entertainment figure to the political conversation surrounding Michigan’s closely watched Senate election.
