Anthony Hopkins is putting a longtime passion at the center of a new classical album, Life Is a Dream. The newly announced project brings together music he has written across more than six decades, revealing a creative side that has developed alongside his acting career.

The album features 12 compositions performed by the Philharmonia Orchestra under conductor Gustavo Dudamel. As part of the album announcement, Hopkins described music as a deeply personal part of his life, with several pieces connected to family, childhood memories, and places that have remained important to him.

Among the works are “Bracken Road,” “And the Waltz Goes On,” “Stella Aria,” and “My Fatherland.” Some of the music reflects his early years in Wales, while other pieces were inspired by people close to him, including his wife, Stella.

Hopkins began playing piano as a child and continued composing throughout his career. Life Is a Dream brings that private musical history into a full orchestral release, presenting another side of an artist best known for decades of work on screen.
